Wanted a simple water cartridge filter system installed for whole house water filtration. The representative came out promptly for an estimate and to take a water sample. The company estimator was kind and professional. An estimate came a few days later that seemed extremely high for the proposed job. No person actually followed up, just automated texts and emails. There were many requests for reviews without any actual work having been done. I did not have a great experience paying over $80 for a 15 minute visit, an estimate that felt I was being taken advantage of, and no follow up with the results of the water test. E.W. Tompkins was not the right fit for me.

Had EW do the preliminary work for a tub to shower conversion. They redid the plumbing, drain, and set the new shower base in place—a tight and precise fit for sure. They were quick to set up a visit to generate an estimate. There was an unfortunate reschedule at the last minute after I already took time off to be home, so I had to take additional time off for the make up. The guys were very friendly and great to chat through our project. The fee was reasonable, though a bone for missing the original appointment would have gone further with me as far as stars go.
The estimate took about a week to generate but was far too expensive. I think our job was too small to be in a good value range for them. We tried asking for an adjustment to the amount of work to just the core work and they were able to quickly modify the estimate. Unfortunately, it was somehow only 100$ less and still way out of budget.
If we need a bigger job where their price is better justified maybe we'll try again. Their reputation is great and Pat and Hassan were very nice.

Asked and then an RFP to replace a commercial water heater on #/24/26. Called 3 times asking for the quote. Today I demanded to speak with someone. Had to call twice to talk to someone. Then the person told me they did not do that type of work. Could not tell me that in the beginning??? VERY POOR SERVICE!!!

I have a new refrigerator being delivered later this week and my older home still had a rigid copper connection between a saddle valve on my water pipe and the refrigerator. Patrick from E.W. Tompkins did a great job in replacing an old saddle valve with a new T junction and ball valve so that I can easily turn off the water to my refrigerator for the install and going forward. He also installed a new flexi pipe to replace the old rigid copper pipe running to my fridge. When he was done he ensured to clean up any mess from water or dirt due to the work and left my home as he found it. He ensured we are all set for delivery of our new appliance. The costs were clear and fair. They were able to send out someone the day after I called and I wasn’t charged an emergency visit fee or anything additional for the quick turn around. Overall, we had a great experience with E.W Tompkins. and will use them again for future plumbing needs. Highly recommended.

I called to have them repair a loose toilet that was also bubbling. The appointment person was great I loved the quote was emailed and received a text message when my appointment was booked. I received another text the morning of the visit. The plumbers were great talked to me about the issue and repaired the toilet to stop it from rocking. But we could not fix the bubble issue and said to get a new toilet. I scheduled the install with them same process, we and picked up a new toilet. He arrived earlier than scheduled by no issue since I work from home. After he was done gave me some advice for future plumbing and went on his way. Great customer service all the way around.

We had an emergency at our office, our boiler failed and pipes froze and burst in multiple places. E.W. Tompkins came out within a few hours of me calling them. They also had a way for me to send pictures so the technician could have all the parts needed when he first arrived instead of having to make multiple trips. They stayed well beyond their working hours to make sure the job was complete and our pipes were repaired that same day. They were wonderful to work with from beginning to end.

E.W. Tompkins is great. I just needed a kitchen faucet replaced, but during the job, it was discovered that the hot water valve was damaged was fixed as well. I also had to reschedule twice due to unexpected complex and they happily accommodated me.

The E.W. Tompkins team is the best. They came out a few days before Christmas to help with my clogged sink. That unfortunately turned out to be a completely blocked pipe that needed to be replaced.
They were able to come back quickly on New Years Eve and replace the entire pipe -- and while doing so, they came across the issue that was not allowing our dishwasher to drain and fixed that in the process!
They're absolutely stellar professionals and I can't imagine going anywhere else. As I slowly fix all the issues in this house that we purchased, I'm sure to be giving them another call.

This is the 2nd time I've used E.W. and they were as excellent as before. Avery was able to diagnose and repair the shower drain leak quickly and cleanly. Easily 5 stars.
I needed a Kitchen faucet replaced, thinking it couldn't be repaired. Marcus repaired it in less than 20 minutes. Saved me $300 at least. Would definitely use them again.

I was very impressed as a first time customer. I had a bad leak in my fridge water line. They returned my call right away, had someone at my house (Patrick) within an hour, and after running to go get specific parts for my setup he was finished with a upgraded steel line and shut off valve in a little more than an hour. He came up with solutions to make things work for a line that ran behind cabinets, and cleaned everything up afterward as well. Price was quite reasonable considering all the work that was done. I absolutely recommend E W Tompkins for plumbing work!

Toilet and ejector pump were both shot. EW Tompkins sent out 2 techs, and replaced the equipment quickly and carefully. Professionally done and very attentive to any customer concerns. Recently needed a tuneup and cleaning of my home's gas boiler, but my plumber had retired. I'd phoned several places. A couple of potential vendors never returned my calls, and one phoned a few days after E.W. Tompkins had completed the job. E.W. Tompkins got back to me quickly, and worked efficiently. Friendly guys, and very helpful in making recommendations.

Scheduling was quick and easy I was able to schedule my custom sink installation when I wanted. The tech was knowledgeable and friendly. We discussed what I needed, and he got straight to work. Had an old gas line that was leaking that needed to be replaced. While I got several quotes from other places. There were two things that stood out with E&W. They came in at the best price. The person they sent, Marcus, did a no nonsense assessment on what needed to be done within minutes. Others spent time selling new heating systems that just would not work in an old house without remodeling.

We had to call them back because their initial repairs to our hot water heater didn’t work. To their credit, they didn’t fully charge us for that first visit, since we were left without hot water for two weeks.
On the return visit, they did little more than a quick visual inspection and still couldn’t identify the problem. While they were there, I asked about a shower diverter, and after spending over $600, the hot water issue was still unresolved—and the diverter wasn’t fixed either. Honestly, I’m not sure what I paid for.
When I called to discuss this, the manager’s main skill seemed to be arguing. After about 10 minutes of going in circles, I finally said I needed to end the call. Only then did she mention the possibility of a partial refund. I told her to do whatever she thought was fair. In the end, no refund was given, and $600 later, I was no further ahead.

I've used these guys a few times now and I'm really happy with them. They're easy to contact, they show up when they say they will, they know what they're doing and they're reasonably priced. And they always make sure I'm happy with the job.
A few years back, there was a glitch with a toilet they replaced due to a faulty supply line but they were back the next day to replace it at no additional charge.
I had them out a few weeks ago to help me with my water filter, and since the technician was able to fix it in six minutes, they only charged me for the service call.

The tech listened to the work that was needed and a detailed estimate was quickly available. Work was performed soon after I accepted the estimate in a quick yet thorough manner. They came and fixed a leaky faucet within 2 days of calling for $200 when another plumber said it would take weeks to order parts and require full replacements for $1600. Will absolutely be using them for everything in the future.

I have hired this company a number of times to replace toilets, shut off valves, and various faucets. Today was kitchen faucet. They always do a thorough job, and are very professional. They sent someone quickly, within 1 day of calling. They are a bit pricey, but provide peace of mind.

These guys can be trusted! I had an estimate of $1,400+ for a shower handle replacement by Roland J. Down so I checked around. E.W. Tompkins did it for just a couple hundred. They told me I’d need a replacement part and when they found out they could actually just fix that part, they did, instead of charging me for a new one. It was two guys and they were prompt, friendly, and quick. I will never use another company for plumbing. Knowing of a company you can trust to not rip you off is priceless. Thank you E. W. Tompkins!

Avery and Patrick were dispatched to our home to repair a broken water heater. After some thorough detective work, they determined that our gas had been shut off by our gas provider. The resulting damage was expensive, frustrating and unnecessary. Our technicians did an excellent job of advocating for us with the heater manufacture, and managed to get us a warranty replacement. I’m grateful for their hard work, knowledge and willingness to handle the conversations with the manufactures. I STILL recommend E.W. Tomkins.
Our technician Sam was very thorough not only in his investigation and diagnosis of our AC issue, but in his explanation to us. He was friendly, professional, on time and patient. I would absolutely recommend this business.
