I called for help with a possible slab leak after hearing water running under the floor. The technician performed slab leak detection and confirmed the source quickly. The slab leak repair was handled carefully and everything was left clean afterward. Highly recommend their expertise.

Plumber in DC failed to do the work properly, and then kept the money after their work failed. I had a leaking faucet in a bathroom. Plumber came out, claimed that the faucet needed to be tightened, and did so. A few days later a larger leak began to occur under the sink in the same place. After paying around $400 for the faucet repair, they said that they had been incorrect about the problem and that the faucet would need to be replaced, which they would do "at discount" for an additional $400. I told them no and that I wanted my money refunded, minus the visit fee. They refused. After weeks of back and forth, they claimed they would refund a small portion of the cost, less than half of what I had paid them. They then never refunded it and began dodging my calls. End of story, I paid $400 for absolutely nothing. I wouldn't trust them.

Caution: Unprofessional, shoddy work, unethical business practices
I hired Mike from 4Fast Plumbing to fix a leaky toilet in my home. Cost was $550 and included a 90 day warranty. The toilet was still leaking after he "fixed it", so we scheduled a time for him to come back. On the day of the appointment, he didn't show up or call to reschedule. He was a no-call/no-show three consecutive times before I finally hired someone else to complete the work. Mike finally reached out to me via text, but I requested a refund since the work had already been done. He didn't respond to that request and it took another two months (and many attempts) to reach him by phone. At that point, he agreed to a refund, but never sent it. My calls to him since then have gone unanswered and he's made no attempt to reach out and resolve this issue. Don't waste your time or money on this company unless you want to be the victim of unethical business practices and shoddy work which will end up costing you more in the long run.

Now I am in Russia, on a business trip. However, I want to leave a positive review about this company. You know, they are the best plumbing company in DC. I always use DC PLUMBING services and recommend you. They are experienced and polite people.

The best experience ever with a plumber~ So my basement flooded... a lot. And the plumber I originally got would only tell me the sump pump was the problem. He didn’t want to fix it. I needed someone to immediately mitigate and fix the issue that created my flood. Looking at reviews online while fighting with other providers to get the water out of my apartment, I contacted Mike at Plumber in DC. While I continued fighting with other venders to begin the cleanup, Mike arranged to come by that next day. When I wasn’t available in the morning and then had a narrow window for when my home would be accessible, Mike adjusted his arrival to avoid the conflict. He identified the problem- the electrical outlet fried my sump pump, called me to let me know the issue, replaced the pump and rerouted the power to a functioning outlet and forwarded a report on what happened- and he did all the work in just over an hour. He also recommended a company to help with the flood cleanup. While other contractors were dragging their feet, looking for ways to get a payout from the insurance company, Plumber in DC simply fixed the problem and provided resources to help. If you need a plumber to do the work right in a very short period of time while not ripping you off, Plumber in DC is the plumber to get. I can’t recommend them more highly!

I promised a review because they did an excellent job so here it goes....
I cannot stress enough, how pleased I am with this company! I came home to what I thought to be a backed up drain in my bathtub but it wasn't and it turned out to be a sewer problem. Ugh.... After speaking with a few different companies and receiving a couple of quotes, I decided to go with Plumber In DC. Mike was the owner and technician that I dealt with. He was by far the most knowledgeable and professional. He was courteous and well spoken. He was very thorough, in inspecting my sewer. He brought a camera with him to camera my sewer and locate the problem. He was confident and direct. I didn't feel like I was getting the run around. He made me feel comfortable in the process. They weren't the cheapest but I could tell that this guy knew what he was talking about and I am a big believer in, "you get what you pay for". They dug up the sewer and fixed it all, in one weekend! I was amazed at how fast these guys worked and got the job done! I have zero complaints. Thanks Mike for getting our sewer back up and running! I'll be recommending you to my family and friends.

I called Plumber in DC this morning after the tenants in our basement apartment informed us that their toilet was blocked up. Plumber in DC told us that a plumber would be dispatched within "an hour or two" if we would pay a $200 "emergency fee." We agreed to the fee. Two hours later, Plumber in DC texted that it had accidentally "doubled booked" our plumber and that we would have to wait another two hours for him to complete another job before he could come do ours. I texted back and asked if I would still have to pay the emergency fee since we were not be treated as an emergency. Plumber in DC then called me and berated me over the phone, angrily telling me in a loud voice that, yes, we would still have to pay the fee and that I needed to remember that "the customer is not always right." And that is a quote. He literally would not let me get a word in edgewise, yelling at me over the phone while my family sat around me listening and absolutely stunned by his behavior.
Were it not for our tenants, we would have cancelled the appointment right then and there and used the bathroom at our local McDonald's for the evening while we looked for another plumber. But we would not do that to our tenants. So we tolerated the behavior and did not cancel.
When the plumber arrived, he was from a company in Fredericksburg, Virginia -- 50 miles and more than an hour from DC. He told us it would cost $550 on top of the $200 emergency fee before he would even begin to snake the pipe. Again, at this point we had little choice but to agree. The plumber worked for about 1.5 hours, charged us $750, and told us afterwards that while the blockage was clear for now he couldn't guarantee the work because he wasn't sure if he'd actually fixed the problem.
So we are out $750 for 1.5 hours of work with no guarantee.
In sum, consumers should be aware that Plumber in DC is not a DC plumbing company -- it is a dispatching operation for plumbers all over the region. It is also very expensive, incredibly rude to its clients, and does not guarantee its work. Never again.

Hello Pat, I would like to explain our prices. Our $200 emergency price is a flat fee for having a plumber come out like all other plumbing companies have in DC. Also, we have 6 locations, you saw an invoice with our Fredericksburg address on it which lead you to think we aren't in DC. We actually do have an address in DC and it has several trucks parked at the garage right now. The $550 is for snaking it. That is our fee for the equipment to do this. If you were to rent the tool that we needed at Lowes it would have cost you $400. My men can't work for free, so we included the tool fee plus the hourly fee of our men. Please also remember we are a licensed company, we have insurance, overhead, etc.. If I were to have a guy I am paying double time for come to your house and use a machine to snake your toilet for $200 while having to pay insurance, gas, etc.. I wouldn't have a business. Also, no plumber guarantees that snaking will work forever. It's just not possible. I know you are mad that you had a problem, but please do not take it out on us. We fixed the problem the same night. I am very sorry you thought that I was yelling at you or was angry, but that is just how I talk. When you work around loud equipment you tend to lose hearing and talk louder. I do apologize for any misunderstandings.
I called at 8:30pm and was told they'd call me back in 5 minutes. An hour later I called them back and got an answering machine. THEY ARE NOT 24 HOURS. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE GUYS

I am very sorry you had this experience. This is considered an emergency for plumbers right now since pipes are freezing, we tried to call you back, but there was no answer. We have so many people calling that we were not able to keep calling you back after the first try. We are 24 hours as a note and we are not a waste of time, we are just trying to help those that are available.

Plumber is DC was great. I was nervous about hiring a plumber, but I just had to. (Leaking water main valve) They made the entire process as easy as possible for me. They worked with my schedule and got it done for a fair price and finished it pretty quick!

Old water pipes, oh no! What a drag. So in the long run I decided to have all of them replace in my home with new copper pipes. So I got on the phone with Plumber in DC and I was impressed.
